Sample Kitten Agreement for the adoption of a Rubicatz kitten

Kitten Agreement 

 

1. That the Breeder will agree to offer for adoption and the Adopter will agree to adopt the Kitten detailed below with the adoption fee of £XXX.  The Kitten has been vet checked on three occasions; offered for adoption as an indoor cat he/she has been vaccinated against Feline Enteritis and Cat Flu, wormed, given a preventative flea treatment and neutered.  The Kitten leaves the Breeder with four weeks insurance from Petplan.  As there are a number of feline illnesses for which there are no vaccines, on going pet insurance is strongly advised.

 

2. That the Adopter agrees to and understands the following conditions:-

- The kitten shall not be sold, leased or given to any pet shop or research establishment.

- The kitten shall not be taken from the Adopter's UK without the Breeder's prior consent.

- The kitten shall not be sold, given or donated to any person without the Breeder's prior knowledge and consent.

- In the event of the Adopter being unable to maintain the kitten, the Breeder shall be informed and shall reserve the right to repossess the kitten at any age.

 

3. The Adopter further warrants that the kitten:-

- Will be kept as a Pet in appropriate conditions for its health and welfare and will be fed a suitable diet for its age and condition.

- Will receive regular booster vaccinations from a veterinary surgeon.

- Will receive all necessary veterinary care to maintain its good health. *

- Will NOT be declawed.

The Adopter further understand that if there is a failure to keep any part of this contract, or if the kitten is neglected, maltreated, or is failing to receive adequate medical care, the Adopter will surrender said kitten to the Breeder unconditionally and without financial restitution or compensation.

*In the unlikely event of your kitten showing signs of illness within the first 7 days of ownership, he/she must be returned to the breeder within that week when a refund will be offered. 

 

Thereafter the Adopter will accept responsibility for all future veterinary fees incurred.
